It’s been awhile, but since the tsunami knocked out the
internet here, I haven’t been able to get a stable connection. So without further ado, the end of the year
post!
*Time really speeds up when you get older. That’s why I have to work twice as hard to
hold on to the good times before they pass by. *Most relationships start with a mutual need. It’s sad but true. *When hosting a party, expect them to arrive 1.5 hours after
the start. Expect Chinese to arrive on
time. *Cheap red wine taste better then expensive rice wine. *Rekindled my love for gaming. *Computer is actually evil, and does nothing for my well-being. *Sudoku is the new crack *Learned the right way to say bollocks. *You are only as good as the people behind you. *You might die tomorrow, go ahead and buy that gadget. *There is only one Bill Gates, make your own path *Still believes I can rule the world with either my
dedication and luck or my ridiculous sex appeal . . . probably the former. *Song of the year – The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army *Theme song of the year – Daft Punk - Around the World *Unexpected Hotness – RJD2 - Ghostwriter *Musician of the year – David Bowie *Album of the year – Lost in Translation OST *Movie of the year – This is Spinal Tap

| Hello all! Andy in the house! Update in the house!
I have a new roommate. She’s replacing the German roommate,
Thomas who returned home. Evans moved in
about 2 weeks ago, and kinda brought this energy to the house. One part punk, one part kiddy. Now all we do is play PS2 till late late.
Well not now at least.
I’m now currently living I NanTong which is a factory city 3 hours from Shanghai. Boring, but productive!
Last week, to my surprise, my old MBA classmate invited me
to a David Tao concert held my Hennessey (her current employer). Its not a concert in the traditional sense,
but more like a music party. You cannot
buy tickets, it was invite only, so there were not many people there, and the
performance was more personal. What’s
more was not only was I there, but I was in the VIP section! This is a small sectioned off part of the
party only for celebrities and their friends.
Before I know it, I had a famous VJay to my right, JJ (famous Taiwan
singer) to my left, and David Tao’s mom right behind me. Surreal!
Anyways, I’m planning my escape from the factory and back to
Shanghai. The roommates are getting restless and demand
a house party before Christmas. I
personally think its more trouble then its worth. . .

| nothing to report about.
I've just realized i'm too emotionally spastic to be in a normal relationship, for now at least. With work and social life, its just one big juggling act.
And to pull someone into the mix? I don't want to put them to it.
On a much brighter note, i bought a new guitar! 300rmb baby! Once i figure out how to post a pic, i'll show ya. I played all night till the sun went up! Time well spent. The thing is, i jump from song to song... so i never totally learn one song before moving on. Its like musical ADD. Yikes. i should stick to one song. Any suggestions?
Tonight going to what my friend calls a "chinese soup kitchen" Friday big meeting. Sat. hitting up the art district. gonna do some research with a friend. gonna find a place to open a cloths boutique for smaller designers. Sun. relax! planning my HK trip for dec.
Big cousin is coming to SH next Wed. to check out the factory. I might stay up there for the week until dec. Also, i have a new roommate moving in! Thomas, the german guy is moving out, so i will be totally out numbered!

One minute its summer, the next its damn winter!
I usually don’t complain about the weather,
but gezz, it’s cold. I’m about to head to Beijing
for a week for work, be back by the 1st. It’s good to be going back, to things
familiar. But now I find myself not wanting
to leave Shanghai. Have I already left old Beijing
for new Shanghai? I guess it didn’t take me that long to adapt
anyways.
Were I really want to go is home (NC). Sit around and take it easy. Slow down and enjoy the simple life for
awhile. But I’m sure I’ll go crazy after
a week or so.
Hum, what else is new?
Same old same old. Just been
meeting a whole lot of interesting characters both foreign and Chinese. It’s strange how diverse a city can be. This is when I truly realize I still have a
lot to experience.

| Funny how the world turns out to be so small.
One minute, I could be talking to investors from Malaysia. Next minute, we’re discussing how the Malay
place (Penang) in Chapel Hill is
far from authentic and that I should fly up to there to try real food.
Is it coincidence or fate?
Who knows. Maybe North
Carolina is a international place after all.
I have to give my “home town” more
credit.
Been busy this past week.
I know my posts are much more entertaining if accompanied by pictures.
So I’ll have that soon, hold on tight.
